Yes, even lumberjacks like me need a vintage inspired, reversible hand muff. For the outer portion of the hand muff I used a plaid, flannel fabric. On the inside I used an incredible, soft and fuzzy, black fleece.
how to: Cut your plaid and your soft black fabric into the same size rectangle that includes extra fabric for the outside seams. Then cut the same size pieces in fleece ( I used 10 layers of fleece) minus the length for the two outside seams. Split your fleece layers in half, and half will be sewn with the plaid and half will be sewn with the soft black fabric. Sew both of these separately (each with their group of inside fleece fabrics) to connect them to make one long tube. Now you are able to sew one entire outside seam into a circle. Note that you will not be sewing the inner fleece on either outside seam. Then the other outside seam will need to be hand-stitched using the invisible stitch technique.
I think that this reversible hand muff will better convince everyone of my lumberjack-ing skills. Don’t you agree?
